Three-paycheck months in 2027: when your bonus paychecks land
If you're paid every two weeks, two months a year bring a third paycheck — and in 2027, some people get three such months. Find your schedule below.

Why some people get 27 paychecks in 2027
A year is 52 weeks plus one day (two in a leap year), so every 11 years or so a biweekly schedule fits a 27th payday into the calendar year. 2027 starts on a Friday and ends on a Friday — it has 53 Fridays — so anyone paid every other Friday from January 1 gets 27 checks. Salaried employees should ask how payroll handles it: some employers divide the annual salary by 27 for the year (smaller checks), others keep the usual check size.
How to budget the extra paychecks
- Build the monthly budget on two paychecks. Rent, bills and groceries come out of those two.
- Pre-assign the third check. Decide now: emergency fund, debt payoff, or a sinking fund for yearly costs like car insurance and holidays.
- Automate it. Set a transfer for the third-paycheck dates so the money moves before it's spent.
