Questions

How much does the 100 envelope challenge save?+

$5,050 — envelopes numbered $1 to $100 add up to 1 + 2 + … + 100 = $5,050. Two envelopes a week finishes it in 50 weeks.

Which challenge should I start with?+

If money is tight, the $500 low-income challenge or the 52 week challenge ($1,378). If you can save about $100 a week, the 100 envelope challenge. For bigger goals, the $5,000 or $10,000 challenge.

Does it work in Google Sheets?+

Yes. Upload the .xlsx file to Google Drive, open it with Google Sheets and choose File → Save as Google Sheets. The PDF guide shows each step. It also opens directly in Excel 2010 or newer, Excel for Mac and Excel on the web.

Why is it free?+

It's free while we launch. Later it will cost the price shown, and anything you download now stays yours. We ask for your first name and email so we can send you updates and our weekly money email; you can unsubscribe anytime.
